Ages 3–4
Blue
The tennis starting point — fun first, tennis second. Games, stories and simple challenges build coordination and ball skills, so children arrive at Red ball already confident with moving, throwing, catching and hitting.

Junior Coaching
Recreational-first coaching for every young player — the first pathway into tennis.
The programme
We're a recreational-first club. For most players Match Point is the first pathway into tennis — they come to have fun, make friends and keep improving. Competition is always an option, never the expectation.
Weekly group sessions grouped by age and ability, led by our LTA Accredited+ coaches.
Plenty of time rallying and playing points, so skills turn into real tennis quickly.
Only if they want to — when players are ready they can try in-house matches and LTA-rated competition.
Sessions run at Broomhall Park (Sunningdale), Ascot Jubilee, White Waltham (Maidenhead) and Douai Park (Reading).
The LTA pathway
Our junior coaching follows LTA Youth, the national programme for young players. It starts with Blue — our Little Aces group for ages 3–4 — then courts, balls and racquets are scaled to each stage so children enjoy success early and progress at their own pace. Ages are a guide — players move up when they're ready. Most stay recreational; the pathway is there if they ever want to test themselves.
Ages 3–4
The tennis starting point — fun first, tennis second. Games, stories and simple challenges build coordination and ball skills, so children arrive at Red ball already confident with moving, throwing, catching and hitting.
Ages 5–7
Smaller courts, slower red balls and short racquets so young players can rally from their very first session.
Ages 8–9
A bigger court and a slightly faster ball. Players start building consistent strokes, serving and simple tactics.
Ages 10–11
Full-size court with a lower-compression ball — the bridge to the full game, with more spin, movement and match play.
Ages 11+
The full game with a standard ball. Sessions develop technique, fitness and competitive play for every level of ambition.
Want to compete? Players can enter LTA-rated matches and tournaments, building an official rating as they go. Our coaches will guide you on when and where to start.
